RTX 4080 vs 3090Ti Gaming Performance

To check whether the RTX 4080 is faster or not, we tested out the performance of the RTX 4080 vs 3090Ti GPU.

RTX 4080 is a brand new GPU released in the PC gaming market. It belongs to Nvidia’s 4000 series model and an upgraded version of the old 3080 GPU. The all-new RTX 4080 GPU features 16GB Video Memory and is equipped with a more power-packed performance this year.

In most cases, we have seen that the new or next-gen card sometimes overperforms the old-gen flagship GPU models, or sometimes they can’t. Nvidia claims this RTX 4080 is much faster than the previous gen fastest card, the 3090Ti. To check the validity of this statement, we have tested out two GPUs, the RTX 4080 and the RTX 3090Ti, in Gaming to see how much of a performance difference it makes.

Nvidia RTX 4080 and RTX 3090Ti Thermals

During our testing sessions, we found that the RTX 3090Ti stayed between the 56-60 degrees Celcius range. At the same time, the RTX 4080, although it had similar temperatures most of the time, has seen it increase up to 68 degrees, especially in games like Cyberpunk.

The Core i9 13900K CPU temperatures stayed more or less between 65-70 degrees while gaming. We are currently using the Coolermaster ML360 Liquid Cooler.

Nvidia 4080 vs Nvidia 3090Ti – Final Verdict

From the above chart, we can see some improvement in fps in the latest gen 4080 GPU compared to the old gen top level 3090Ti GPU. For all games, 4080 has taken the lead with a minimum of 9fps and a maximum of 54fps.

Although the DLSS 3.0 technology is relatively slower, it needs to be improved. Also, remember that you still king if you own a 3090Ti GPU, and you seriously do not need any upgrade. And finally, we can say that Nvidia could reduce the price of this RTX 4080 because 1199 bucks do not justify its cost with 16GB of video memory.

So, if you are currently using a 3090Ti or even an RTX 3090, you don’t need to upgrade immediately. We suggest you wait until Nvidia comes out with their highly anticipated RTX 4090Ti in 2023.
