RTX 4070Ti vs RX 7900XT Gaming Performance

We have tested the Gaming Performance between the RTX 4070Ti vs RX 7900XT to see which performs best for all the modern games in 2023.

We started the new year with a plethora of Gaming Products released at CES, and we were waiting for Nvidia’s answer to AMD’s $799 RX 7900XT Graphics Card, and here it is.

Recently at CES, Nvidia launched their renamed edition of their previous 4080 12GB GPU, the RTX 4070Ti and while from AMD launched their RX 7900XT in Q4 2022. Both cards are designed to provide a great performance experience for midrange and high-end enthusiast gamers.

So we have decided to test out both of these new GPUs to see which is better in performance, and we will also discuss whether it’s worth buying the AMD RX 7900XT over the RTX 4070Ti.

Nvidia RTX 4000 vs AMD Radeon RX 7000- Gaming FPS Benchmark

Here are the performance numbers of the Nvidia RTX 4070Ti vs the AMD Radeon RX 7950XT. We have also included the GPU temperatures for all the games we tested. All the games were tested at the maximum settings on 4K at 2160p.

RTX 4070Ti vs RX 7900XT Performance – Final Verdict

The above chart list shows that AMD is the clear winner against Nvidia. The AMD RX 7900XT GPU performs well in all our tested games. Although in every case, we can also see that the GPU temperatures of the AMD RX 7900XT are always on the hotter side as compared to the Nvidia RTX 4070Ti.

Performance wise other than Forza horizon, we didn’t see the RTX 4070Ti taking the lead in any other games, except for those games which have Ray Tracing. Turning on Ray Tracing on the supported games cuts the RX Graphics cards performance by half.

The RTX 4070Ti has a lower 12GB VRAM whereas the AMD Radeon RX 7900XT has 20GB VRAM only at a price difference of $100, and for this reason, you can surely go for AMD RX 7900XT for your GPU upgrade in case you upgrade your system in 2023.

The RTX 4070Ti is undoubtedly a perfect card keeping up with the performance of the RX7900XT at a lesser price, but the VRAM can be an issue for most people. But the fun factor is, if you are using your PC for Content creation, then the Ray Tracing technologies can benefit you, and this is where Radeon fails to achieve the all-rounder GPU tag.

To summarize, if you want a good Gaming experience with everything maxed out on a 4K display, then the RX7900 XT can be your choice. But if you are using your desktop for content creation and gaming, saving $100 and going with the RTX 4070Ti is your way to go with.
