Nvidia’s entry-level RTX GPU is here. and so today we are checking out the brand new Nvidia RTX 3050 Graphics Card Performance Review we have for you!
Graphics cards are being now used for mining and illegal scalper trading. And because of this, there is a major global chip shortage. Getting a good RTX graphics card for gaming is crucial but the current market situation prevailing, not only there are fewer GPUs in the market but also the lowest-end GPUs are very much overpriced.
So to handle this situation, Nvidia has released their 3000 series entry-level card, RTX 3050 which they claim to be their all-new entry-level Graphics Card are here to replace GTX 1650 and GTX 1660Ti off the shelves but also these cards are Low Hashrate Cards which means these GPUs are not equipped to handle mining.
Anyone who is searching for low price budget Nvidia RTX Graphics Card can go for this product. Nvidia placed a price tag of $250 for RTX 3050 and Nvidia CEO, Dr. Jensen Huang promised that it will perform way better than AMD’s entry-level RX 6500 XT. This card supports Nvidia’s DLSS and Ray tracing technology.
So without further let’s check out the all-new Nvidia RTX 3050 Performance Review.

Nvidia RTX 3050 Specs
Here are the Nvidia RTX 3050 Graphics Card Specifications.
NVIDIA CUDA Cores | 2560 |
Boost Clock | 1.78 GHz |
Memory Size | 8GB |
Memory Type | GDDR6 |
Nvidia’s all-new RTX 3050 has a GA106 chip beating at the heart of this GPU, and this is actually the same chip used in the higher RTX 3060 but a little bit small. It is noticeable that this GA106 has a chip size of 276mm2 whereas AMD’s latest NAVI card RX 6500XT has a chip of 107mm2.
This GPU comes with 2560 CUDA cores along with 80 Tensor Cores and 20 RT Cores. Keep in mind that these RT cores can take the workloads of Ray Tracing while the Tensor cores takes the workloads of enabling DLSS.
So in order to enjoy ray tracing, you have to have a decent playable framerate. But behind all of this, the actual frame rendering is done by their latest AI technologies. It has a max TDP of 130W just like the last generation GTX Graphics Card but this time with 2GB extra Graphics memory.
This makes a total of 8GB whereas my older last generation GTX 1660ti and RTX 2060 were 6GB cards. But the memory bus is low with 128 bit and memory bandwidth of 224GB/s. The base clock speed of the all-new RTX 3050 GPU is 1552MHz whereas RTX 2060 has 1680 MHz and GTX 1660ti runs at 1500MHz. This card can be overclocked up to 1777MHz. And without further delay let’s check out the RTX 3050 Performance in the next section.

RTX 3050 Performance – Verdict
While with the new release and our RTX 3050 Performance review, Nvidia claims to give gamers good Graphics cards for Gaming on the lowest budget but they should have kept their word. We expected that the all-new RTX 3050 performance would be similar to the previous generation RTX 2060 but that didn’t happen much.
Nvidia also claims that their new cheapest RTX Graphics Card can beat AMD’s entry-level GPU but in some games like GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Hitman 3, Witcher 3, Borderlands 3 with ultra settings at 4K resolution, the higher end AMD’s RX 6600 is performing better than RTX 3050 while being priced marginally the same.
So what should the gamers choose? Wait for the RTX 4000 series or buy this to fulfill at least their pain of running out of graphics cards to play the latest releases? Let’s see! Also, you can check out the AMD’s 5300G, 5600G, 5700G APUs if you plan to buy the RTX 4000 series later on when it releases.
So this was all about the Nvidia RTX 3050 Performance review. If you have anything to share regarding your choice of Graphics Card let us know in the comments down below.
