The new Macbook Air 2022 features an all-new design featuring Magsafe Charging powered by the new Apple M2 Processor.
We were always very excited about the WWDC event, which features a lot of hardware launches from Apple itself. But this year, along with the iOS 16 news, the new Macbook Air also came into existence. This year’s Macbook Air is packed with features and a new design, and massive improvements when it comes to performance. The laptop is designed with a powerful and the latest Apple M2 Processor. Although the design is quite similar to the 14-inch Macbook Pro, this time, the Apple Macbook Air has a squarish shape as opposed to the traditional wedge look we have seen all these years.
Macbook Air 2022 Price
The Macbook Air is priced at $1199 and will be available from July. Apple is right now not taking orders, although the product page is live on their website. It will be able with both the online and offline retailers after launch.
MacBook Air Design and Ports
As we said, the new Macbook Air features two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a headphone jack. The laptop is 11mm thick and weighs around 2.7 pounds. It is available in four different colours Silver, Space Grey, “Starlight” Gold and “Midnight” Blue Colors. All the models include braided cables which match the colour of the laptop.
MacBook Air 2022 Specs
The entry-level Macbook Air features an M2 Processor, an 8 Core CPU paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. You can also get an upgraded model for $1499, which would feature a 10 Core CPU along with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD. These laptops can support 24GB RAM and 2TB Storage. The older Macbook M1 edition laptop will also be in the market selling for around $999.
MacBook Air 2022 Display
The all-new Macbook Air comes with a display resolution of 2560×1664. It features a 13.6-inch display and has a peak brightness of around 500nits. The display is great for content creators as it is fully colour calibrated.
The fanless thermal solution takes care of the thermals of the Macbook Air 2022, which is completely silent. It is great to see Apple packing so much power inside such a compact form factor. The Apple M2 Processor is more or less 40% faster than its predecessor, but the performance would depend on your app usage. The keyboard features Touch ID as well as the other previous models.
Apple Macbook Air 2022 Webcam
You will get a full 1080p Facetime HD Webcam with the Macbook Air 2022. The laptop features new mics and speakers which support Dolby Atmos as well. The Webcam is good enough for video calls and video meetings. But if you want to upgrade to the new macOS Ventura, you will be able to take advantage of the Continuity Camera, which lets you use your Mag-Safe Enabled iPhone and use it as a webcam.

MacBook Air 2022 Charger
The new Macbook air features a 30W Charger, but if you are willing to spend $59 for a new 67W adapter, you can charge your Macbook up to 80% in under 20minutes. The higher version of the Macbook air features a 35W Dual Port USB C Power adapter. And Apple sells the 67W version separately for the higher end Macbook air.
It is also great news that the M2 chip will also be featured on the 13-inch Macbook Pro, which comes with the touch bar and is available for around $1299.
