With a carbon Grey aluminium finish, the Prestige 15 design is unlike any other performance-oriented laptop. This is 15.6″ display is of very high quality non touch display. The colours on this display are extremely vibrant, and the images appear very sharp and crisp. The MSI Prestige 15 A11SCX Laptop features the True Color Display, a boon for all content creators. The True Color menu gives different colour profiles for different kinds of usage and scenarios. Keyboard and Trackpad
Keyboard
The Keyboard on the MSI Prestige 15 Laptop is the best you can have on Content Creation Series laptops. The key caps are well stretched out, and while typing, you won’t be having the issue of pressing a different button. The keys have a lot of travel, and in our honest opinion, you will get great satisfaction using this keyboard. The white-led backlit keyboard looks very classy, and you can type all your day long on this keyboard, and it’s guaranteed it won’t break easily.
Trackpad
The trackpad is very smooth and easy to navigate. It responds well to my pinch to zoom gestures and other gestures. The Built-in fingerprint is really fast and accurate, and the touchpad is huge, making it easier to navigate.
Connectivity and Ports
You will have two USB 3.2 Ports and one Micro-SD card reader on the laptop’s right side. And on the left side of the laptop, you will have two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports that support 8K resolution and transfer speeds of 40Gbps, one HDMI 2.1 port which also supports 4K 60Hz, and one headphone microphone jack.
The laptop also features Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax and Bluetooth v5.1 for uninterrupted internet connectivity and seamless file transfer.
Webcam, Speakers and Battery
The webcam on the MSI Prestige 15 A11SCX shoots at 720p 30FPS. This is an IR camera that helps you use Windows features like face recognition. Windows Hello works seamlessly on this device. The photos and videos shot from the webcam are decent, good for video conferencing, etc.
The Speakers are located on the bottom side of the laptop, and the sound quality is quite decent. Although, I would suggest using a pair of headphones for much better sound reproduction.
The MSI Prestige 15 A11SCX is an 82 Watt/hr battery, and MSI claims to deliver 12 hours of battery backup. We have tested it for some time and found out that the battery on the laptop lasted for not more than 7 hours at 50 per cent brightness. Turning on the full brightness mode with chrome and Spotify playing in the background, it lasted merely 5 hours. So we can say that the battery is not that great, but it’s not bad either for a machine of this calibre.
Performance
This laptop is powered by the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 Tiger Lake Processor, 16GB 3200Mhz RAM, and Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 Graphics Card. Thermals
We ran a few games and tests for 30 mins, and the GPU temperatures hit around 74 degrees, and then the CPU temperatures run hot at a whopping 91 degrees celsius. A quick solution is applying an aftermarket thermal paste on the CPU, and the GPU as the intel stock thermal paste is not enough to cool the system.
