Recently Xiaomi released their first flagship Mi Notebook Pro X Gaming Laptop powered by the latest Generation Intel Tiger Lake 11th Generation H Series Processors and Nvidia Geforce RTX 3050Ti 4GB GDDR6 Dedicated Graphics Processing Unit.
The Chinese technology brand Xiaomi expanded its arsenal of laptops by unveiling a new Gaming Laptop called the Mi Notebook Pro X 15. The Notebook features a sleek design and comes loaded up with the latest hardware offerings from Intel and Nvidia while offering not only a great user experience but also a very bright and vibrant OLED Display.
As we know there is a worldwide shortage of chips, but that didn’t stop Mi from manufacturing a brand new Gaming model. Xiaomi released two variants of the Pro X 15 notebooks. One is with an Intel Core i5-11300H Processor and the other one is with the Intel Core i7-11370H Processor. Xiaomi did a great job in putting the RTX 3050Ti 4GB into a very thin and lightweight form factor. How does it perform? Read the full review till the end to know everything about the Xiaomi notebook pro x 15 Gaming Laptop.
Xiaomi released two variants of these Pro X 15 notebooks. The Intel Core i5 variant will be CNY 7,999 (roughly $1235) and the Intel Core i7 variant will be CNY 9,999 (roughly $1545). The notebooks will be available in China from July 9th onwards but we didn’t have any official date about the notebook’s availability in the international market.
Design and Aesthetics
The surface of this notebook is made through a ceramic sandblasted process. The full body is made out of aviation-graded Aluminum alloy divided into a set of six series alloy made through a CNC integrated precision carving process. The textured body is surely a head-turner with a screen-to-body ratio of about 93%. The black frames around the display are really small on all four sides. These notebooks offer a very sleek and textured design which will provide some amount of grip when you are carrying around. Weighing not more than 1.3kgs, this is an extremely lightweight and solid laptop. If you compare it with the higher-end Dell XPS 15, thickness wise the Xiaomi notebook is marginally thicker than the former. The Chinese tech giant proposed to make the Pro X a direct competition to the Apple Macbook Pro in terms of design and performance.
This Flagship Xiaomi Laptop features a stunning OLED Display from Samsung with a resolution of 3456×2160 with a maximum color depth of 10bit. This display also features a 100% sRGB Color gamut plus a 100% DCI-P3 Color Gamut. Also with the Contrast ratio of 1000000:1, this notebook passes the TuV Rheinland Hardware Low blue light certification along with the True HDR 500 Display Certification. The brightness is around 600nits which means you will able to use the notebook pretty well under direct light as well. The white point color temperature is very accurate and always stays between the 6500K-6600K range. Apart from these, the Adobe RGB Color gamut is around 89%, P3 Color Gamut is around 99% & the NTSC color gamut of around 89%.
This is to note that this display is NOT a 4K Display. This is Samsung’s 3.5K 60Hz OLED Display with a resolution of 3456×2160. With a new trend of 16-inch laptops, the 16:10 aspect ratio is getting massively popular among Content Creators. So Xiaomi also introduced that aspect ratio on their Mi notebook Pro X 15s as well. The panel also has a maximum pixel density of 226PPI. (Pixels per inch)
Keyboard and Trackpad
The keyboard on the Mi Notebook Pro X is not full-sized but comes with a very nice molding design which feels great while typing. The keyboard also feels a little tactile with a key pitch standard of around 19.5mm and provides a great 1.5mm travel and a comfortable rebound high stroke. This laptop can also run pretty much all the games at good settings. So Xiaomi’s introduction to Gaming keyboards into these small form factor RTX notebooks is appreciable. The keys provide a very comfortable typing experience with concave bent keys which fits your fingers allowing you to type faster and precisely as well. The built-in ambient light sensor can control the lighting of the keyboard according to the environment automatically.
The glass-like smooth trackpad has a great tracking accuracy and responds extremely well to gestures like a drag, double click, pinch to zoom, etc. The trackpad is really sturdy on Mi Laptops so it gives a solid experience while gliding on the touchpad.
The speaker positioning is quite unique on this Mi Notebook Pro X 15 laptop. Two speakers are placed on each side of the keyboard and the other two speakers on the D Side which forms a 4 channel sound system. The speakers are quite loud and you will not need your Bluetooth speaker for some time now for sure.
Connectivity and Ports
On the right side of the laptop, we get to see a fully-featured Thunderbolt 4 interface that supports 8K resolution output, 40GBps Thunderbolt 3, 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen2, and 20Gbps USB 4.0. Alongside you get the HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.2 Gen2 USB Port. On the left side, we get to see a fully-featured Type C Interface for both charging and File transfers. There is another USB 3.2 Gen2 USB port and a 3.5mm headphone microphone combo jack next to it.
The Mi Notebook Pro X features an 80 W/hr battery and Xiaomi claims to deliver up to 11.5 hours of video playback on a single charge. The laptop also supports fast charging of up to 130W and you will be able to charge more than 50% of your laptop battery in less than 25 minutes. This is a very good inclusion as this laptop will mostly be used as a portable system for both work and content creation. For gaming, you definitely need to plug it in your charger. And this is the first time in the PC Mark Endurance Test The Mi Notebook Pro X15 actually crossed the 10 hours of endurance.
The Xiaomi Notebook Pro X 15 is powered by the latest generation Intel Core i5 or i7 Tiger Lake Processors. Paired with the latest 2nd Generation Ampere, the RTX 3050Ti 4GB GDDR6 Graphics Card.

The Xiaomi Notebook Pro X 15 has a dual set of fans called the hurricane cooling system with two massive heat pipes. The fans are a little noisy when the system is at a high load but otherwise stays cool and quiet.
For the burning tests, after 10 mins of running on AIDA 64FPU at a full load, the system was baking at 90 degrees at 3.9Ghz. After two hours of double bake test, the Intel Core i7 11370H operates at 81 degrees while the RTX 3050Ti operated at 65 degrees which is pretty impressive for a system this compact.
The Mi Notebook Pro X from Xiaomi is going to be one of the best laptops in the price range. Comparing it to the last iteration of Mi notebooks which had the MX Series GPUs, the RTX 3050Ti is a huge upgrade over that in terms of performance. The laptop is capable of handling most of the games with ease. Although with the specs and the form factor of this laptop, this is mainly catered towards the content creators in general who are always on the go. Content creators not only need the portability but also the horsepower and this laptop is capable of giving both.
Xiaomi is fairly new when it compares to other giant laptop brands but this specific series can give those brands a run for their money!
