Trackpad and Keyboard
The trackpad is made of plastic. It’s fairly smooth with no dedicated clickable left or right buttons but that isn’t much of an issue. Although it’s a dust and fingerprints magnet, it can easily be cleaned with a microfiber cloth. Otherwise, all the multi-touch gestures work as smoothly as described with the Microsoft Precision Technology.
The Keyboard is a full-sized gaming keyboard. With the inclusion of wider spaced keys with 1.5mm travel and a concave design, it’s fairly easy to type and play games on it. The keyboard is blue backlit and can be used in any lighting conditions.
This laptop features two 1.5W speakers which are placed on the side of the laptop so there isn’t any muffling. The speakers are Dolby certified and according to the brand, the speakers are loud enough for everyday use.
On the connectivity side, Lenovo brings a lot on to the table. Starting from right side of the laptop, we get to see the exhaust cooling vent with one USB 3.2 port. Coming on to the left side we get to see the Charging port, the RJ45 Ethernet port, an HDMI port for the display output, another USB 3.2 Port, a Type C port with a headphone and microphone combo jack.
On the wireless side of things, this laptop features WiFi6 Technology for more stable and faster internet access. A special feature worth mentioning is the Rapid Charge technology, which brings up 80% of the battery life with an hour charge.
The battery life on this laptop is quite decent. Youtube playback gives more or less 5-6 hours of battery life which is better considering the last year’s L340 Gaming. This laptop is powered by a 3 cell 45W/hr battery.

This laptop boasts two fans side by side in the middle rather than the traditional way of putting both fans at two ends. This facilitates maximum air inflow into the Laptop chassis through the vents provided underneath. For the exhaust, there are cooling vents beneath the display behind the idea pad branding and on the right side of the laptop, another exhaust vent is provided. The cooling is phenomenal for the price and the laptop temperatures don’t go past 80-85 degrees at full load. Obviously, with the time you do have to maintain it by cleaning the fans but the coolers do a fantastic job in keeping the components cool.
Lenovo has its own software called the Lenovo Vantage. The Lenovo vantage allows you to update the drivers, check for the errors, request support and lets you find newer apps.
