Things you need
- The first thing you need is a stable Internet Connection in order to download the image file and as well as to activate the Windows.
- Make sure you have enough space on your Hard Drive/SSD. Windows requires around 16-20GB of space.

- A Pen Drive. Any normal USB 2.0 Pen drive will do.
- Rufus Software to make the pen drive bootable.

- A fresh downloaded copy of the Windows 10 ISO file.
Steps to install
Make the Pen Drive bootable. To do this, insert the Pen Drive into your system and format it completely. Then open Rufus software and browse, select the Windows ISO/IMG file, mount it, and hit START. Once the green bar shows Ready, you are done.
Now restart the computer.
Once it restarts, get onto the motherboard bios and search for Boot Device Order, and set the top Hard Disk/DVD ROM Variable to your USB.
For laptops, along with the boot order, change the Secure Boot option otherwise the laptop will not recognize the bootable USB.
Save, exit bios, and restart.
Once it restarts, there will be a message o the screen showing “Press any key to boot from USB”. Press Enter.
The Windows Screen will appear. Press Install now and select Custom.
A window will appear showing the storage Devices. Now from here you create partitions or click straightway on one of the drives and hit install.
The system will restart a couple of times during the process. Normally on a hard drive, it can take a minimum of half an hour to even two hours for installing the operating system depending upon the type of hardware you have. For an SSD you shouldn’t take more than 15-20mins for the whole process.
Once the installation process near completes, you will be prompt to enter your name, time zone, region. You may also be prompt to set up your Wi-Fi. Setup a proper password put in your appropriate asked details and exit the configuration screen.
NOTE (LAPTOP): You need to change back the Secure Boot option before this step 7 so that the laptop recognizes the default hard drive on the system again.
The Windows installation is now completed. You will soon be landed on the beautiful Windows 10 desktop.
Final Windows Configurations
Once you are done installing windows its time to install your drivers for your motherboard. You can visit the Motherboard manufacturers website and download and install the latest Chipset, LAN, Audio and other utility softwares. If you have a dedicated Graphics Card head over to Nvidia/AMD website and download the latest graphics driver. For other softwares you can hop on to Ninite – Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once.
