Fix your Display Port Problems

Here are the possible solutions that you can follow to fix your Display Port Problems
Adapter Link Failure
Often, these problems happen when your monitor switches to low resolution as they cannot detect whether the display unit is connected with the GPU or Motherboard Display Port. When your monitor doesn’t support the resolution changing process, it shows an error message: “The system has detected a link failure and cannot set the requested resolution and refresh rate. Your display might not support the requested resolution, or there may be an issue with the cable connecting the display to your computer“. Reverse the changes you have made to your monitor resolution to fix this problem.
Restart the System after 30 Sec
If you have a blank screen and your monitor is showing nothing, shut down your system for at least 30 seconds and then turn it on again. This might fix your Display Port problems.
Check the Display Port Version to Fix your problem.
The latest version of the Display port is v1.4. If you have bought a new monitor or system, check properly and replace your Display port cable with the supported version. Check the manual if necessary.
Upgrade and Reinstall Driver to fix Display Port Issue
Sometimes your GPU driver does not get compatible with your Display port cables. Upgrade the drivers or freshly install new drivers to get rid of these problems. Also, if your external monitor comes with a particular 3rd party driver, install it.
Install the Display Cable into the Port Correctly to fix the problem
When you insert your display cable into the system’s proper display port, it gets stuck due to excessive pressure or you might not have put it correctly, resulting in a loose connection. Check and install the lines properly to fix this problem.
Fix the Monitor Input Settings to fix DP Port issues
When you have connected your system with an external monitor through a display port cable, the monitor might haven’t changed its input settings. Navigate the monitor settings and set the Display port connection as current or default.
Check the Quality of Display Port and Cable to Fix Display Cable Problem
By default, we use the display cable, which can be poor in quality or the port side where we are inserting it. Check it properly and if you find any obstruction there, replace it with a new one.
Check for System Malfunction to Fix Display port issues.
Many users have faced the problem that their display port and cable are working correctly, but their system has some issues and shows a black screen with error messages. So, in this case, check whether your system is running correctly or not, as the appearance of the black screen doesn’t mean that only your display port or cable has a problem.
