But this year along with major brands like Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, Gigabyte, and Acer. they did some modifications on that and launched this updated product.

ROG Zephyrus G14 – Price and Availability
This 14-inch Gaming Laptop is tagged with a max price range of $2000 right now in the market. The GA402RK model is available for $1899 and the GA402RJ model is available for $1649 as per the latest update. It may also change, as price varies from one country to another country.
Zephyrus G14 – Design and Build Quality
From the looks, Asus walked into the path of the previous generations. They kept the same design from the previous year along with an Ergolift hinge. Hinges are very sturdy and easy to adjust single-handedly. For this feature, the display of this laptop can be leaned back to 180 degrees which is a newer update in this year’s edition.
With an improved keyboard and I/O ports, Asus kept the design to be very much user-friendly. The thermal vents and speaker placement are placed properly so that the heat can be dispersed evenly. Asus maintained a thin form factor to make this laptop more appealing to travelers.
Although the White color looks dashing, Asus is also offering a Gray color option. Because for some regular outdoors users, the white will tend to get dirtier and will not look nice.
ROG Gaming Laptop 14-inch – Display
Asus constructed the Zephyrus G14 display with the new taller 16: 10 aspect ratio with thin narrow bezels on all sides. An optional variant comes with an updated Anime Matrix Array of microdots, which provides sharper images, smoother animations. With the 16:10 Aspect Ratio., you will have 10% extra workable space.
The panel comes in 2 variants. Both of these variants are good for both Gaming and Content Creation.
A. QHD+ 120Hz, 3ms response, 500-nits, 100% DCI-P3
B. FHD+ 144Hz, 3ms response, 400-nits 100% sRGB
As you can see, both the FHD and QHD variants are faster with more nits of brightness. We didn’t notice any ghosting problems with 3ms overdrive mode. Both models are Pantone validated along with Adaptive Sync, so no more screen tearing.
Now here are some dissimilarities between the standards of these two models. While QHD offers 100% DCI-P3 color quality along with Dolby Vision HDR, FHD provides 100% sRGB with superior contrast. So, you should choose what should you be using this laptop for.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus 2022 – Keyboard and Clickpad
Keyboard
The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 features a keyboard with shorter thin and tiny space keys. Alike other lappies, there is no extra column of the function key and the layout does not contain a dedicated key for the print screen.
With four media keys at the top left, it comes with RGB backlit and White LED options. With overall experience along with typing, we can say the calibration of this keyboard is overall good.
Trackpad
Surprisingly, the trackpad is larger than the previous model with an arm-rest area. Asus designed this large area for the trackpad for flawless working with precision. The surface region is smooth, accurately responsive, doesn’t rattle with random taps, and is averagely clunky.
Zephyrus G14 2022- Ports and connectiviy
On the left side, you can see a power plug, an HDMI 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and a USB-C 3.2 port are placed. On the right side, you can see another USB-C 3.2 port, a display port, a USB-A port, USH-II microSD card reader are placed.
The HDMI and Display ports are directly connected to dGPU. It delivers an external monitor and projector screen support. One interesting thing is that only the USB-C port supports laptop charging and demands 100W power.
Asus also has put the latest Gen Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5 in this laptop through an Intel module. We did a setup for testing and it performed well. We did several experiments, but haven’t noticed any kind of disconnecting or lagging issues. Gives good results also from long ranges.
ASUS 14-inch Gaming Laptop 2022 – Audio, Battery and Webcam
Audio
The standard of Audio is excellent with a set of two big and two small speakers. The enriched quality of sound hits a max of 80+ dB levels. With the Windows 11 platform, we did testing by activating enhanced audio speaker options settings and it performed well without any distortions.
Battery
This G14 comes with a 76Wh battery like the previous Gen ASUS ROG G14 models. We noticed that the screen refresh frequency stays at 60Hz when normally using the battery. We did various testing in terms of heavy task loading along with 120 nits of brightness, Hybrid mode, and here are the results-
A. Max usage of 7 hrs while doing text editing in G Drive, WiFi ON.
B. Max usage of 9-10 hrs while Youtube on 1080p, WiFi ON.
C. Max usage of 10+ hrs while Netflix on 1080p, WiFi ON.
D. Max usage of 5-6 hrs while browsing the Internet, WiFi ON.
E. Max usage of nearly while playing Witcher 3, Wifi ON.
This battery result shows that this Zephyrus G14 battery is efficient and more effectively better than the previous AMD G14 Gen model.
Webcam
Asus has put an HD camera in this G14 model. The capability of this camera is overall ok, quite similar to the M16 series. microphones are flanking the camera and for video calls, image recognition works well.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus Gaming Laptop – Performance and Benchmark
We did some tests and ran some of the heavy software loads including some of the newer high Graphics games. We turned on the Turbo profile in the armory crate and the MUX is set on the Hybrid model.
For the heavy load task handling experiment, we ran 3DMark 13, PCMark 10, CineBench, x265 HD types of benchmarking software. And for gaming, we ran Battlefield V, Doom eternal, Far Cry 6, Witcher 3 types of AAA games. A combination of Ryzen 9 6900Hz and AMD Radeon RX 6800S did a good job.

Zephyrus G14 Gaming Laptop- Thermals
Asus has modernized the whole thermal architecture in the G14 series in 2022. Now, this Zephyrus G14 comes with a vapor chamber and liquid metal compound on CPU and GPU chips. Though we found that this laptop is getting hot like most other 14 inch laptops.
Now after doing some testing, we have found some of the following results-
A. When running on turbo mode, the main chassis is getting hot in the middle section and around the J, D, B keys. The temperature recorded was around 40 degrees celsius.
B. At the bottom section, the temperature stays around 50 degrees celsius
C. Radiators that are used to keep cool can get hot up to 60 degrees celsius.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 Laptop comes with a pre-installed Windows 11. Apart from that, you will get some of the Asus ROG and Ryzen GPU software for your own customization. It also comes with a free copy of the Microsoft Office 360 Package.

Can I upgrade the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14’s RAM and SSD?
Only you can upgrade your storage but there are some limitations. It supports only M.2 SSD drive so only you can upgrade that. You have to replace the existing 512GB M.2 SSD for your upgrade. You can upgrade the SSD of the ROG Z13 Flow but you cannot upgrade the RAM as it is soldered on the Motherboard.
